PRESS RELEASE NO. 1 ǀ RE-CONNECT PROJECT
Intensive work and good cooperation of project partners on the RE-CONNECT project created the first results of the project. We are happy and proud to be able to share these results with the general public.
RE-CONNECT project aims to accelerate the development of competencies of tourism staff in remote tourist destinations by implementing a greener and more digital approach and ensuring sustainable tourism in line with the circular tourism approach. The aim of the project is to spread green and digital solutions in off-beat tourism destinations, promote economic potential in rural areas, develop competitive tourism and increase digital and sustainable competencies of tourism staff in rural areas.
As part of the project, a circular tourism collaborative hub will be developed for local tourism staff to share their experiences, challenges and best work practices in a common network. In order to make this platform as useful as possible for end users, we have defined the thematic content of the platform by a set of brainstorming sessions with the involvement of at least 20 thematic experts and end users per partner country. Each partner organization participating in the project presented the project in their local environment and disseminated a questionnaire on what thematic content and features the platform should contain. After the analysis of the questionnaires, we came up with valuable informations that will be useful in further work in establishing the platform. Our summer will be extremely productive as intensive work continues and we are already preparing thematic content and designing the first frames of the platform.
But hey, that's not all we have achieved in these past months. Behind us is also the first transnational meeting of partners, which took place in Catania, Sicily. We used this meeting to get to know each other better and to better connect the project team, at the same time we also presented the results of the work done so far, and agreed on what the next tasks are and what are the next steps in the work process in the future.
We have a working summer ahead of us and we are sure that in the autumn we will be able to proudly present the achievements that our project will bring. Until then stay tuned!
