PRESS RELEASE NO. 2 ǀ RE-CONNECT PROJECT
RE-CONNECT project aims to accelerate the development of competencies of tourism staff in remote tourist destinations by implementing a greener and more digital approach and ensuring sustainable tourism in line with the circular tourism approach. The aim of the project is to spread green and digital solutions in off-beat tourism destinations, promote economic potential in rural areas, develop competitive tourism and increase digital and sustainable competencies of tourism staff in rural areas.
The intensive work on the RE-CONNECT project over the last year has led us to the first elements of a circular tourism collaborative hub, which is already operational but not yet launched. Before the official launch, all project partners want to make the platform as usable and user-friendly as possible.
A circular tourism collaborative hub will be developed for local tourism staff to share their experiences, challenges and best work practices in a common network.
We are proud to present the basic framework of our HUB and what features it will include:
· IDEA SHARING & EXCHANGE - A place for co-working and evaluating your ideas on developing challenges with experts (digitalisation, waste handling, construction, energy, water from service and attraction development)
· INTERACTIVE CIRCULAR TOURISM FORUM – A tool for exchanging views with members on circular value creation, value capture and value distribution (a continuous series of online brainstorming).
· ONLINE EVALUATION POOL OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM OFFERS – A tool for evaluating your sustainable tourism offers with our online test & discuss about your results with thematic experts.
REMOTE INTERACTIVE TEAM WORKING SUB-PLATFORM – A tool to create a private group for your team and start working your project together with our online project management tool.
· COMMUNITY GATHERING TOOL – A tool to follow, friend & communicate with other members, use the public newsfeed to share your thoughts, send private messages to members or comment on posts.
· KNOWLEDGE & GOOD PRACTICE BANK FROM ALL OVER EUROPE – A tool to browse, learn new skills and get inspired from our Knowledge & Good Practice Bank.
· TRAINING MATERIALS ON CIRCULAR TOURISM - A tool to take a free online 10-module training course focused on circular tourism.
· CO-CREATION GUIDES – A tool to check out our step by step guidebook on how to accelerate circular tourism projects, products or services through co-creation.
The pillars for the official launch of the platform have been set. In the coming months, the project partners will be actively working on the content that will be offered on the platform to the wider public. All that is left to do is to work on the details to make sure that your user experience will be as good as possible and that the platform will help you as much as possible in your work.
We continue to work intensively on project activities and look forward to the coming months when we will be able to invite you to use our circular tourism collaborative hub.
